How pricing works
A replacement is priced to the house. This page names what moves the number. The amounts are in your written quote.
What decides the price
The things that change the number from one house to the next.
Tonnage, from a load calculation of your house
Efficiency tier, and one-stage or variable-speed equipment
Duct condition and any duct changes
Electrical work and the mechanical permit
Removal of the old equipment
Access: attic, closet, crawlspace or a tight side yard
What the estimate includes, and what it doesn't
The quote lists the scope line by line, the equipment by model, the permit, the haul-away, the warranty terms and how long the quote holds.
Not included unless it is listed: duct replacement, a panel upgrade, repairs to the house
If we find something outside the scope, we show you and quote it separately before any work
What happens at the visit
An advisor walks the house, measures, looks at the attic and the ducts and asks how you live in it. When you book, we tell you whether the visit has a fee and whether it is credited toward the work.
Rooms, windows and insulation are measured
Ducts, electrical and the old equipment are looked at
You say what bothers you about the system you have
After hours
We replace and install. We are not an overnight repair line, so there is no after-hours rate to quote. Install days run in business hours, and messages left at night are answered the next morning.
When you get the number
In writing, after the home visit and before any work starts. If the scope changes, you see a changed quote and agree to it first.
How and when you pay
The quote says what is due and when. Deposits, the balance on completion and the ways you can pay are written there. Financing, if you want it, is a separate step with a lender.
Nothing is due until you accept the quote
Financing is optional and never changes the quote
Questions
About the quote
Is the home visit a sales visit?
It is a measuring visit that ends in a written quote. You can take the quote home, ask for a second one elsewhere and decide later. The quote says how long it holds.
Can you tell me the price on the phone?
Not honestly. Two houses of the same size can need different equipment and different duct work. We can tell you what moves the number and what a visit involves.
What if I want a cheaper option?
Ask for it. The quote can show a lower efficiency tier or one-stage equipment next to the one we recommend, and we say what you give up.
Do rebates change the quote?
Ask us what your state or utility offers. Programs change, so we point you to the current terms rather than quoting a figure.
Ready for the home visit?
We measure, look at the ducts and write the quote while you watch.
